FAQ

  • Can I watch my kids during their lessons?

Absolutely! You are welcome to enjoy our outdoor space and watch your child progess. Sometimes it’s easier for the parent not to be in eyesight of the child, so they can pay full attention to the instructor. If this is the case, we will chat about solutions together.

Yes. The pool will be heated all year round and temperatures will be comfortable despite the outside temperatures. the only exception is if there is a thunder and lightning storm. communication will be sent via email if this happens. the viewing area will be heated during cooler temperatures to ensure spectators are also comfortable.

There is a 48 hour cancellation policy to receive a full refund. There will be a 50% refund between 24-48 hours notice given. There will be no refund if less than 24 hour notice given.

  • How deep is the pool?

At the deepest point, the pool is 5 feet deep.

  • Do you have a towel service?

Yes! We are happy to provide this service for an additional $5.00 per lesson.

  • Can I register multiple participants at the same time?

Yes. I recommend they are within two swimming levels of one another, to be able to provide equal attention and feedback. We can split the lesson to have equal amounts of time spent focusing on each child.

  • What do I need to bring to each lesson?

A bathing suit, weather appropriate clothing to change in to, hair tie for longer hair, swim diaper for children who are not potty trained. Optional items include swim cap, goggles, sunscreen, towels, favourite bath toys for those new swimmers who might be shy at first.

  • Can my child wear goggles to their lesson?

Yes. It is important for everyone to be confident with getting their eyes and face wet without goggles, therefore, I will always encourage water safety skills to be performed without the use of goggles. However, if it’s the only way to get the child to get their face wet, I will work with them!

  • Do you offer adapted lessons?

Yes! I have experience working with people who have a variety of different physical and cognitive abilities. I am open to working with your family to be able to provide an adapted program that will allow learning and progress at the individual needs of the participant.

  • How do I know which level to register my child in?

It depends on their age. If you are looking for private/semi private lessons, it doesn’t matter. Simply choose a date and time that works for your schedule and we can assess at the first lesson. If your child is 6 years old and has no swimming experience to very little experience then register in Swimmer 1.

See the program chart for skill criteria details about each level here. If still uncertain, please reach out and I will help you find the right level.

  • Can I bring my dog?

Yes, however we ask you keep them in the front yard. We have a quiet, family friendly neighborhood with a safe and clean park located minutes from our home. Feel free to take a walk with your furry friend while your child has their lesson.

  • Do lessons happen if it's raining out?

Absolutely! Think of it like other outdoor sports that takes place in the rain - soccer, football, field hockey, etc. Learning how to swim in the rain is so much fun! The kids love it. It is magical to be in water while it rains out. Water safety is my main goal for instructing and there’s so much learning that happens when you’re exposed to the elements. Being able to teach children what water looks like outdoors, during different seasons and elements is very important.
